Fake Handbags – Don’t Be The Next Victim
Unless you are extremely careful when you are shopping, you may end up fake handbags of a particular designer and not know it right away. Such is the case with handbags and the fact that there are so many resellers claiming to offer authentic pieces but end up selling you knockoffs. If you do not have the experience to know what a true brand-name handbag really costs, spend some time doing research before you go out shopping because you may very well end up with several fake purses and lose every cent of your money.
Back in the day, it was much easier to spot a fake handbag than it is now. In the past, they used very flimsy hardware, cheap leather and often times the logos were misspelled in a very obvious way. However, scam artists have really stepped up their game and have started to manufacture near original looking pieces that the average eye will not be able to tell are knockoffs. So how will you know?
Well, as mentioned before, you need to do some research to determine how much a true brand name handbag goes for. A new Louis Vuitton handbag, for example, would never sell for $100 or even $400. Therefore, if you see one going for that kind of price, then it is very likely that if it not stolen, it is a fake handbag.
You should also consider where the handbags are being sold. Online auctions, purse parties and car trunks are not the type of reseller location that will indicate you are getting an authentic handbag. Authorized dealers for brands like Prada, Gucci and Chanel definitely do not use those means of getting their handbags sold, so stay away from them if you are looking for something original.
It is interesting also to note that many scam artists fail to put the kind of tag in the bag that indicates a realistic point of origin. Design handbags and other goods, specifically leather, do not have a tag that reads, “Made in Taiwan”. Authentic designer pieces are generally made in countries like Italy, France and the United States. Therefore, paying attention to the point of origin tag may be the secret to you not getting scammed.
Lastly, if you are shopping online, try not to shop at stores that overuse words like “genuine”, “authentic” or “original”. Any site that promotes those words too often is probably selling knockoffs. These are probably the best ways for you to spot fake handbags so you do not end up wasting your money.
